[blindipod] Re: Why An iPod

Hi Joe,
Most iPods aren't all that accessible, but the iPod Shuffle is. It doesn't
have a screen, and so every control except the battery gauge is accessible
and easy to use. With accessible software, such as Anapod Explorer or
itunes with scripts or set files, you can use all of its features.
I find the Shuffle a convenient-sized method of playing music I have put on
my computer, Audible content, podcasts, and protected music from
iTunes. It's a nice amount of memory for the money, and the variety of
formats is nice. I also like features like Autofill, which puts a random
sampling of all your music into the iPod (fun for road trips and such
because it's like creating a personal radio station), and the ability,
through iTunes, to make any file you play in the iPod bookmarkable (meaning
your place will be kept if you leave the file). I realize that any audio
file in a Book Port is automatically bookmarkable, but that's a much
bulkier and more expensive piece of equipment.
HTH,
Anna
