Hi Martha,
It's strange that the Shuffle doesn't show up in iTunes. Have you
tried launching iTunes and then plugging in the Shuffle? If iTunes
isn't recognizing it, first I would wait a bit; maybe the battery is
dead, and it needs to charge a while before iTunes sees it. This is
just a guess. If that doesn't work, I suggest calling Apple. You're
entitled to one free call, and they're usually pretty helpful. Good luck.
