Phone: 410.504.1969 I installed both the new iTunes and the new iPod updater per Anna's and Brian's e-mails. I am using the 2.71 scripts.

My iTunes screen did not rad properly, however, after going into
parental controls and eliminating podcasts, videos and the music store
and unchecking party shuffle for good measure, iTunes settled down. I
get messages about trying to access the iTunes store, autofill and the
mini music store otherwise. (I did not have the mini music store
enabled.)

I updated my iPod shuffle.

I subscribed to and downloaded all episodes of the novel Burn from the
podiobooks.com site. I'm using replay/av which has a useful feature:
it converts mp3 files to m4b files so they're bookmarkable. It also
imports them into iTunes. This is a little goofy at the moment
because of their renaming scheme. I'm told in replay a/v8 it will be
better.

So I move the book--16 files--onto my shuffle using iTunes.

Life should be good, right?

Here's what's happening--the files are not bookmarkable. I can't even
move through the file. Pressing left or right on the shuffle ring
moves me to another file. It's like listening to the radio. If I stop
in the middle of a file, I'm back to the beginning the next time I
turn the shuffle on and I can move forward to my place. I have to
re-listen.

Here's my question: Is this true for other people who have updated
iTunes and their suffle? Is it particular to these files for what ever
reason?

Stuck in re-listening mode, ~Merrill
