I'm nervous about attempting to install it on my laptop again. The last time I tried, which was in July of last year, I got the blue screen of death, and when I restarted, I had no sound, and was getting a bunch of errors about my sound drivers. My friend had to help me do a system restore. It's a great program when it works though. I've seen it in action.

Hi Sue,

Yes, Rhapsody is listed on their web site as a medium it can convert, so no
problems. But why not download the demo and try it for yourself? It will
only convert 30 seconds of the file in demo mode, but you will get the idea.

All the best

Steve

Will it play Rhapsody files? I can play them in Windows Media Player, but
they're protected.

Steve, this program is simply fantastic. I have not seen a program
which does what this software can do. It would be nice to have a bit of
scripting done for it to avoid using the jaws cursor, but I don't think
people yet have appreciated exactly what this program will allow them to
do and the benefits of it. So everyone, go a take a look at it, the URL
is in the message below.

Hi folks,

I have just discovered Sound Taxi, http://www.soundtaxi.info. It can
convert any sound file, whether DRM'ed or not, to clear MP3. I love
this
thing. Apparently, the way it works is to stream the information from
your
player, such as Windows Media Player, to itself, instead of your sound
card,
at high speed, then convert the output to MP3.

In my listening experience, you don't appear to lose any quality.

I have tried it with WMA files from 7digital and it converts them no
problem, and I reckon it would work with Napster files too, though I
have
never tried them yet. It also apparently converts Apple AAC files, so
Itunes is fair game too.

You can download a free demo, the limitation being that it will only
convert
up to 30 seconds of any file, but you will get an idea on how good this
is.

Please note, it does not crack the DRM. So if your file won't play in
your
media player, it is not going to convert.

Anyway, I love this thing, and thought I'd let you all know.

All the best

Steve
