Hi folks,

I have just discovered Sound Taxi, http://www.soundtaxi.info. It can
convert any sound file, whether DRM'ed or not, to clear MP3. I love this
thing. Apparently, the way it works is to stream the information from your player, such as Windows Media Player, to itself, instead of your sound card,
at high speed, then convert the output to MP3.

In my listening experience, you don't appear to lose any quality.

I have tried it with WMA files from 7digital and it converts them no
problem, and I reckon it would work with Napster files too, though I have
never tried them yet. It also apparently converts Apple AAC files, so
Itunes is fair game too.

You can download a free demo, the limitation being that it will only convert up to 30 seconds of any file, but you will get an idea on how good this is.

Please note, it does not crack the DRM. So if your file won't play in your
media player, it is not going to convert.

Anyway, I love this thing, and thought I'd let you all know.

All the best

Steve
