Hi Karly,
When you type control speech, it will take you to the speech properties
sheet. You are by default placed on the speech recognition tab.
In order to change voicess, you will first need to move to the Text to
speech tab by using ctrl-tab.
You will then see a combo box with various voices.
When you select a voice here, you will automatically hear some text spoken
in that voice.
