Hi Robin:

I'm going to risk being unpopular. I have and use an ipod nano 8 GB and
have had it since December. It doesn't work with rock box, but once I
learned what the menu options are, I can use it just fine. I wanted the new
nano because I wanted the ability to play movies, and it is easy to select
that option. I think eventually, rockbox will be cool to try, but did not
base my purchase on that factor and I haven't been disappointed. Itunes was
a little tough at first, but once I got jtunes working and things settled,
it's workable. I prefer the 8 gig as opposed to my husband's 160 gig, I
just can't imagine keeping all of that organized. I would rather put the
files I use most on, and find that at most I have filled not quite 7 of the
8 gig, and that's with some movie files as well. I use playlists a lot, but
also choose by artist or album, and it's all alphabetical.

If you do decide on the nano, it may take some learning and getting used to,
but for me at least, that was all worth it.

HTH.

Subject: [blindipod] Ipod Nano

Hi all,

Please could someone provide me with information as to the accessibility
of the current Ipod Nano that's out at the moment, it has the usual scroll
wheel. I was looking at the 8GB model the other day and am interested in
purchasing one along with a new stereo with a docking station.

Obviously I would use Rockbox. Does the wheel have the click feature, and
if not, does the lack of it pose major accessibility problems?

Appologies if this has been asked before. I have not used an Ipod before,
up until now I have used Sony MP3 players. BTW the NWA818 is a great player
and easy to use, although Rockbox is not yet implemented. Unfortunately I
lost mine so am considering switching to the Ipod.

Thanks very much for any help people can provide.

Robin Williams.
