OK, I've learned a lot about the use of iPod Video as a player.  But
now I want to use this device to record in the field: specifically, a
meeting in which I participate or a speech I am delivering.

I understand how to enter RECORD mode, how to find a file I've been
recording, and even how to determine what file type the recording is
in.  But my question is more basic than this:  What type of mic must I
use to captur what is going on in a room and where do I plug it into
the iPod Video?  The only slot I can see for a mini male plug is the
headphone jack, which is by its very nature an output jack.  And the
unique design of the USB slot on the back end of the iPod accommodates
just the custom-built charger cord that connects it to a PC.  Unless
I'm really missing something simple here, it doesn't seem to
accommodate any type of normal or mini USB connector.  So is there a
limitation on what type of mic I use or is there a certain adapter
needed to plug it in?
