  Mark,
I had a 30 Gig Video Ipod and returned it for some of the same reasons. I
found it to be pretty good, but the click wheel is a little hard to get use to.
I also found that the Rockbox firmware would lock up on me.
I did like to formfactor and miss it, however, I am going to try an iAudio X5
to see if it works better for me. From what I have heard from some podcasts it
seems easier to operate with the joystick.
  Hope this helps,
  Vinny

hi list, my Iriver has died and I am looking at the Ipods for my
replacement.
Have I understood the rock box site correctly, in as much as the Ipod 30
and 60GB 5th generation are working with rock box?
if so, anyone out using it at the moment?
Speaking to a friend who was using the Ipod video about a year ago, he said
it was a little difficult to operate with the wheal and not really worth the
effort.
experienced problems getting the voice box script to work on the Ipod
video.
Have we seen an improvement on the Ipod video in terms of rock box support,
and functionality?

    any info much appreciated.

    RGDS,

    mark
