FreeLists / blindipod / [blindipod] Itunes and an old ipod shuffle

I'm wondering if anyone can tell me how to enable disk use on an old ipod 
shuffle.  I have the latest version of itunes, 
but I can't figure out where to go.  I tried to find my ipod in the source 
list, and then hit the jtunes key then f8, 
but when I found enable disk use in the menu, when I hit enter, it said it 
wasn't found.  Any help would be greatly 
appreciated.
