Hi Nicki,
You can only use Anapod to transfer content that will be played by
the Apple firmware. You might want it for transferring Audible
books, though. iTunes is usable, but I would imagine it would be
difficult to use without scripts or set files. Shane, are you using
either scripts or set files to use iTunes? Windows Explorer is great
for transferring files to be played with Rockbox.
It sounds like you're going for the iPod Video anyway, but just in
case you consider a Nano, keep in mind that Rockbox only works on the
first generation Nano. I also don't think it works on the 80 GB iPod
Video, though I could be wrong about that.
I've been using a Nano with Rockbox since last summer and have been
pleased with it. It's great to have a mainstream player that
talks. And I routinely switch between the Apple firmware and Rockbox.
