Hi Geetha,

From memory, the voice box script will use the voice that you have set as your
computers default voice. It will also use the default voice rate. Under XP to
change this,
1. Open control panel.
2. Open the "Speech" applet inside control panel.
3. On the speech properties page, select the voice you want to use, plus the
speech rate.
4. Click the apply button, then the Okay button and close the control button.
You also may need to restart the computer to make the change. The next time you
use voice box, it should use the voice and speed you selected.

Hope this helps,
Brett.

  Hi Jim,

I purchased my iPod 30GB video last week and am a relatively new iPod user.
I used the Voicebox program yesterday to create names of files and
directories for the first time, and it worked without a glitch.
Below are steps to go about the process. This is based on how I performed
the task:

    1. Download the script to automatically create the .talk files for folders
and/or file names from here:
     http://rockbox.aplcycling.org/voiceBox.zip
    2. Extract the zip file to a folder on your computer. It creates a folder
called Voicebox.
    3. Run the voiceBox.hta file located in the Voicebox folder.
    4. Follow the instructions on the screen. This includes selecting the
folders/files that you want to be voiced in your iPod. Ensure that you have
your iPod connected to the computer before you start this process.
    5. Once you finish selecting your options, activate the Run Voicebox button
by hitting the spacebar.
    6. Once the procedure is completed, you will hear a beep.
    7. In the voice settings of your iPod, change the option for speaking files
and folders to 'While hovering'.
You should hear your iPod speak out the file and folder names.
I am not too happy with the SAPI4 voice used for this purpose, but do not
know how to change it to a different voice.

    Geetha

    Hi Folks:

Has anyone had any luck creating names and directories using the SAPI4
Voicebox program?

    Cheers.
