[blindipod] Re: Questions about iPod accessibility

Hi Brett,

This is very interesting indeed.
Do you mean that if I buy an iPod on which Rockbox can be installed, I would
not have to convert my ogg files into the audio file format in order to play
it on the iPod?
If so, and if it plays both ogg and MP3 formats, I would certainly prefer
having a Rockbox-compatible iPod.
By the way, on which of the iPods can Rockbox be installed? Shuffle and Nano
are ruled out I guess.

Also, do you already use an iPod with Rockbox which plays ogg files?

Many thanks.
Geetha

Hi,

iPods natively don't play OGG files, but if you put rockbox on your iPod, it
then will play ogg files. So if ogg is a priority for you, you will want to
get an iPod that you can install rockbox on, that way you won't have to
convert your files.

Hope this helps,
brett.
