[blindipod] 2 IPOD Questions

Hi,
This may sound like a stupid question but, once my IPOD is charged can I
just pull it out of the USB port or do I need to click on the " icon in the
sys tray?
Also, I had no difficulty playing tracks in Itunes, but now if I hit enter
on a track nothing happens. My speakers work fine so that's not the
problem. Could I have accidentally screwed something up?
