Hi Barbara,

Press Control-Comma, or go to Preferences at the bottom of the Edit 
menu.  Go to the Advanced tab in this multi-page dialog.  The 
Advanced tab is also a multi-page dialog box, so find the tab 
controls and choose the Importing tab.  This tab includes various 
formats you can have files converted to.
