[blindipod] Re: Problem with the iTunes music store

To Brian, Andrew, and others:
I affirm that purchasing tracks in iTunes has been a problem for me.
For the most part I have stuck with iTunes 7, since I want to attain
as much functionality with this as possible in the hope that I acquire
an up-to-date iPod sometime this year. I have attempted to purchase
albums and tracks using JFW 6.20 and 7.0, with iTunes 7.0.2 and iTunes
7.1. In all cases I have found this to be impossible--probably
because I did not know how to set the VIEW preferences in iTunes so
that my focus would be on the right portion of the screen. I have not
switched back to iTunes 6 because, in a conversation with Pace of Next
Generation, he attempted to purchase a track using iTunes 6 and
Brian's 6 interface, and this did not work for him, either.
As to the other point brought out in this thread, I have had success
using iTunes 7.1. I have been able to subscribe to, listen to, and
download podcasts; to create, select, and burn playlists; to rip my
own CDs to the iTunes library; to select and play radio stations. But
since this issue of purchasing tracks seems to affect more than just
me, and since I don't believe the special viewing preferences for this
purpose are outlined in Brian's manual--(please correct me if I'm
wrong!)--could someone please give me direction here? I have brought
this up to the group previously.
Thanks.

Soon, I guess Itunes 6 will be come unsupported as will the versions of jaws

are trying to get everyone to use itunes 7.1 has anyone tried it?

Subject: [blindipod] Problem with the iTunes music store
Hi
Using iTunes 7, there is a problem with the music store. OK, I'll
re-phrase, there have always been problems with the music store, but
like most things in iTunes 6 we could get around them, with 7 it's all a
bit flaky.
Anyway, whatever you customise in the iTunes store view, for example if
you de-select the album from being displayed, when you quit iTunes and
re-start it and go back into the store, the view preference you selected
is not maintained. Even if I select the option relating to remembering
the view for each source, it is not retained.
This is a real problem because the limited functionality we did have for
purchasing tracks has now disappeared because it was imperative we had
the view set in a particular way.
Has anyone else noticed this?
