  Hi Cherryl,
There is an Ipod restore utility that is available. I have it if you would
like it. It should restore your Ipod to its factory settings. Write me off
list.
  Sylvia.

    Hello everyone.

I am a new person on this list. My Name is Cherryl, and I am from BC.
Canada.

    Now on to my questions.

I have an Apple mini Ipod which was purchased from someone. This mini
ipod is not recognized by windows. What happens,
When I plug it in to the USB, I get a message saying "this ipod needs to
be reformatted would you like to open Itunes so your ipod can be restored?"
Of course, I hit the ok button, and when itunes opens, it tells me "this
ipod appears to be corrupt, please restore it so it can work correctly".
When I finally find the right restore, it then lets me know that it can not
download the right software as the source "ipod" is not found.

I have been searching on the net for any "fix or recovery" tools, and
haven't had too much luck.

What seems very odd to me is that once in a while, I will see the ipod
in itunes.

I can tell you, it does show up as an F drive in explorer. When I go to
the add new hardware, it is listed as an apple ipod.

I am very frustrated and puzzled.

Any thoughts, suggestions, ideas.... would sure be appreciated.

I should let you all know, I am a blind individual and I live on my own,
which means no sighted help.

    Thank you all in advance.

    Cherryl
