Susan,

Did you register your Shuffle? I found that once I did that, I was able to read the songs and delete them with no problem.

Your suggestion worked great, because now I am able to paste content into my ipod Shuffle but I don't see the list of ipod content in the ipod's name list. So, I cannot delete the items in my ipod. Do you know where I can find this list?

Thanks a million!

What happens if you arrow down to the name of your iPod, and do not
press tab, but just press control V. Does that work? What sort of iPod
is it you are using?

Hello Brian,

We looked carefully but we don't see a second music heading that you are
referring to, below the name of the ipod . There is only one music
heading which is on the top of the Itunes screen which is what used to
be called the
library in former versions and it is where all the albums are placed.
So,
I don't know what to do. In previous Itunes versions it was simple
because it could be pasted right into the item list of the specific ipod
to be transfered into. How do you personally transfer content such as
songs or podcasts into an ipod ? Pls. advise further.

Thanks a million Brian!

it says music?

When you arrow down the source list this is what you will get in this
order.
1. Your iPod name.
2. Underneath will be Music.
3. Underneath if I recall it is audio books.
So in other words, you arrow down to item 2, tab once and paste.
This is a different music category to the music item which is at the
very top of the source list. This is music specific to your iPod. So
there are two music items in the source list in total.

Let me see if I understand correctly. So, you do not have to be in the
ipod items list to paste content there in order for it to be transfered
to the ipod? Does it mean that if I paste it in the music item list, it
still gets automatically transferred into the ipod? Then, what is the
purpose of the ipod's items colunm? This is different from the previous
versions of Itunes. Also, can you put podcasts to be transferred in the
music item list? Pls. advise.

Thanks again for your help Brian.

I think I know what is going on here. Of course if the paste option is
unavailable that is nothing to do with us (smile). However, when you
locate your iPod, you do not tab at that point. Underneath the iPod
name in the source list there are further sub-groups, one of which will
be music. Arrow down to that option, then tab, then paste. It should
work then.

I am using Jaws 7.0. I select a song or a podcast from the Itune's
library by using the arrow keys. Then I copy my selection to the
clipboard with control C. Then I select my ipod and tab into the Ipod
field to attempt to paste the clipboard content there for the ipod to be
updated by using control V. I can tell that the content is being copied
to the clipboard but control V does not paste it into the ipod field.
When I tried to use the edit menu as an alternative and went into paste,
it tells me paste unavailable even though content has been copied to
clipboard. A sighted person was able to perform this task in a round
about way. Pls. advise.

Thanks for your help Brian.

Hi

Thanks for your message to the list.

1. I accept there is a problem with the item and source list
announcements being switched and I will update that fairly quickly for
you.
2. If you have followed all the guidelines within the jaws help system
for customising windows XP, there should not be a problem with the arrow
key functionality. Did you train the colours manually or using the
automatic training feature?
3. When you say you cannot paste into your iPod, please detail step by
step what you did to try to paste a song onto the iPod.

4. Which jaws version are you using please? I know iTunes is getting
worse with each jaws release that comes along, but with the versions up
to 7.0 it should be OK.

Subject: [blindipod] problems with latest Itunes scripts

Hi ,

I just purchased the latest Itunes scripts. I am using Itunes 7. I
carefully followed all the required installation steps and all the
recommendations specified in the scripts manual and I have also
reinstalled both Itunes and scripts but I am still having the following
problems:

1. Jaws does not read the Itune screen accurately and The up and down
arrows work only sporadically.
2. the source and items lists appear to be switched around
3. I cannot paste any content into my ipod, as the paste feature is
unavailable. A sighted person however was able to paste in my ipod.
Therefore, I know that it is not a problem related to my ipod.

Please advise on what else I can do, because at this point, the scripts
don't work and Itunes is unusable to me.

Thanks!
