[blindipod] Itunes not importing AAC Files

I have been trying to add more music files to my library. I have
played around with moving the library around and brought it back to it's
original location; each time with just certain file types being added to my
library.
It seems that only MP3s are being added to my library. I have a few cd's I
recently ripped to AAC format, but they will not import to the Library. I
thought AAC format was one of the formats Ipods and Itunes recognize. Any
suggestions?
