[blindipod] On-the-Go Playlist & Song Transfer Problems to the Nano

Hi,
Someone asked the other day, if it was possible to delete the On-the-Go
playlist from within iTunes, if I remember right. . . The On-the-Go
playlist is only visible on the iPod and is intended for songs that one
chooses from within the ipod, selects and then adds to the On'the-Go
playlist. I assume that one could go into the playlist menu on the iPod and
delete that playlist, but the person would either need sighted help or use
Rockbox (I have not used Rockbox yet). Sorry, but the On-the-Go playlist
never becomes visible on the iTunes interface for any users.
The other question was regarding some song transfer problems after having
gotten a replacement for a previous Nano and that songs transferred fine,
until the unit was registered. Please do not think for one moment that I am
an authority on this one, but Apple has a protection type that allows people
to burn only a certain amount of CDs, authorize only a certain amount of
computers and a certain amount of iPods, This said, a user should be able to
transfer songs to an iPod though for an unlimited amount of time. What is
odd in this particular situation is that you were able to transfer your
songs prior to the registration. It could be that the above mentioned
authorization process has something to do with this or that these songs were
authorized by someone else previously. In your case I would call Apple Care
(if your in the U.S. like I am) the phone# is: 1-800-275-2273. They are
amazingly quick on the phone and very helpful.
I hope the playlist issue helped and that you can resolve the other issue.
Also do not forget to install the newest iPod Update (released 2006-10-1)
