Hi Ian

Yes it is, which is another reason why this keystroke would be a good idea.

Thanks.

I know that with some download sites I use it is often much cheaper to buy
an album than the individual tracks which it comprises. Is this the case
with the Itunes Music Store?

Subject: [blindipod] Buying Albums, For all J-Tunes customers

        Hi

Next week, we will be revealing on the Main Menu program some of the
many new features we have included within the upcoming version of the
J-Tunes scripts for iTunes which I think you will like. We will give
details of the programme separately. I will say now that one of the smaller
features is that you can now purchase music tracks without sighted
assistance to help you locate the Buy Track button first which is good news.

However, we still do not have the ability to purchase albums. So I
am asking for your help to please request that Apple give us a keystroke to
purchase the focused album from which the track originates.

I have prepared some text which I have submitted to Apple via their
feedback form on the web site and it may help if you could please complete
the form and submit it to them.

There will be people on this list who will say that iTunes is
largely inaccessible and so on, and we should discuss that in the feedback
form. But with J-Tunes for those who have it, it is usable and the new
features will help with accessibility and if you have any particular
suggestions we would like to hear about those now. However, I don't want us
to get side-tracked on those issues. It is much more likely that Apple
would include a keystroke to do something which could be quite significant
than to adapt their interface. we have lost nothing by trying to ask them.

So if you are willing, you should go to

        http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunesapp.html

There are a number of fields in this form, including a comments
field of course. Specifically, in the Feedback Topic combo box you should
select "Buying Music, Videos, or Audiobooks".

Here is the text you should paste into the comments edit box. Of
course this is a template and if you wish to adapt it please do.

I am a blind person who uses iTunes in conjunction with my
screen-reading software which delivers the contents of the computer display
using synthetic speech and Braille output.

Iam able to use the arrow keys on the keyboard to locate the song of
my choice and my screen-reader will announce the originating album. I can
purchase an individual track.

However, there is no keystroke available to purchase the album. Due
to the complexity of the itunes screens in terms of the layout of albums, it
is not possible to activate the Buy Album button.

I would be willing to purchase far more music on-line if such a
keystroke was put in place and given iTunes already has some keystrokes to
control aspects of the Music Store it would be very useful if you could
please include this.

        Thank you.
