[blindipod] Re: mp3 and Ipod

Hello Anna,
Thanks, I downloaded the updated Anapod, but am going to wait till I get
home to have more time with it. This may seem rather silly, but how do you
get a file onto your Ipod using ITunes? Up until now, I've only used Anapod
to do so and have had no need to use ITunes.

Hi Cristobal,
I've never used that model of iPod with Anapod, but I have had problems with
certain file types when using it with an iPod Shuffle, so the problem could
be with Anapod. Make sure you have the latest version of Anapod in case
they've fixed bugs recently. To figure out whether Anapod is the problem, it
would be a good idea to restore your iPod in iTunes (which will,
unfortunately, delete all the content) and use iTunes to transfer music to
it. If MP3 files play normally (meaning they behave just like AAC files),
you'll know the problem is with Anapod. Another option would be to use
Winamp. It can synchronize a Winamp library with an iPod. But it would be a
good idea to restore the iPod before trying either iTunes or Winamp because
Anapod can make changes , at least in the Shuffle, that can only be fixed by
restoring it. Sorry not to have easier suggestions.
Regards,
Anna

Hello Anna,
Well, I use Anapod. I?m sure glad I finally got around to asking. I just
assumed that it was normal for an mp3 file to behave in that manner and that
was why I always had to convert them to m4a files to be able to fast forward
and rewind and stop without have to start all over. My Ipod is the 80gb
model.

HI Cristobal,
What you are describing isn't typical behavior; normally you can fast
forward and rewind fine in MP3 files on an iPod. What sort of iPod are you
using? How are you transferring content to it? Are you using Rockbox?
Cheers,
Anna

Hello list,
I was wondering if anyone knows how to make mp3 files on a Ipod behave like
the m4a files? What I mean is with the mp3 files, I cant fast forward or
rewind. The track just starts all over from the beginning. That and I cant
stop the track and restart at the same point.
Thanks,
Cristobal
