Itunes comes on a CD and can be easily loaded without help. The only sighted
help I needed was to register my Shuffle where I needed someone to read its
serial number. Perhaps the registration part can be skipped. The scripts
cost L30.00 and are well worth the money in my book. I think it is the owner
of this list who created them and on the site where I found them there is a
great audio file with a brilliant tutorial which talks you through
everything. The Shuffle is about the size of a packet of chewing gum and
quite robust and the sound quality through its earbud phones is superb.

I think this may do him nicely for taking to and from work.  Is ITUNES
already installed when you get it or do you have to install and need
sighted help?  Where are Brian's scripts for ITUNES and is there a
charge for these?

As I bought one Shuffle and got one free, I keep one for music and one
for books.

Buttons are:
Slide switch on the back for off, Play consecutively and Play randomly.
On the front, Circular button for Play, Pause and Stop. Four buttons
surround this, above: Volume up, Below: Volume down, to the right:
Forward a track, to the left: Back a track.

Very straightforward as you see.

Hi Carol,

The iPod Shuffle comes in 512 MB and 1 GB models.  You can play music
either in random order or in playing order, which is usually the order
in which you loaded tracks into it.  A few blind people use other iPods,
but since the other iPods are menu-driven and the menus are long, I'm
not sure how they do it.
