[blindipod] A strange file recognition problem

Hello all,
I am currently listening to a book which comes in 21 ogg files. Each file
contains the contents of one side of a previous recording on tape, enabling
me to skip to the next side by moving to the next file.
This however works fine until side 6, after which my iPod video
automatically skips to side 8 or file 8, completely ignoring file 7. The
file is not corrupt as I am able to play this file from the iPod using
Winamp when connected to the computer.
My question: How ccan the iPod recognize and play some files but not others
with the same extention?
I created three folders and copied seven files into each, just so as to
exclude the possibility of an oversized folder causing this problem; but
this did not help either.
Any help in resolving this mystery would be greatly appreciated.
Geetha
