Hi Steven,
If you rockbox your iPod, it will work in the same way as your friends does.
No need for iTunes, which is a resource hog anyway.
Cheers,
Brett.

Subject: [blindipod] a bit of advice
hello list.
my friend came to my house with his goodmans mp3 player and we connected
it to the pc using the u s b cable without the supplied software.
we used windows explorer to access the player and copied and pasted some
mp3 files onto it.
nice and easy, smile.
my question is this...do all portable media devices except for the ipod
range act like this?
can they all be accessed through windows explorer without the need for any
other 3rd party software installed?
this was so easy to do and didn't cause me any problems to get the mp3's
onto the player.
i like the idea and simplicity of this as i know how compllicated the use
of the ipod software is and was hoping someone on this list can advise me
better on the choice of a player.
regards.
