Hi Stephen, welcome to the list. I am certainly no expert in the field, but I 
thought I'd reply so you had an answer quickly. I hate waiting for new toys. 
I'm sure many will reply with their suggestions and thoughts about what works 
for them. 
One thing I'm quite sure about is that most will say the simplest option and 
possibly one of the cheapest is the ipod shuffle. You can get them in size one 
gig, and they have no real menus to navigate and a very simple button 
structure. If you check out Brian's page with the link at the end of this 
message there is a section on actual players and descriptions of them. You'll 
find many of your answers there. Then you could come back to the list with more 
questions. smile
