Thank you for those references.  I might try them.

However, I am interested to know if anyone else on this list is having the same 
problems?  I know now that people are asking about bookmarks, but I would be 
interested to know how people are getting on with navigation.

I don't know if it is significant that all the other people on here who have 
loaded the Rockbox software have been using Iriver H340 machines.  Mine is an 
H320.  I know the firmware is said to be the same. Has anyone else with an H320 
successfully loaded rockbox?
