I replenished the bird feeders first thing on this cold, windy, snowy
morning. And, I’m glad I did. While Les and I were eating lunch of
homemade vegetable soup, we saw a beautiful male PURPLE FINCH among
goldfinches and house finches at one of the feeders. We “retired” to the
front sunroom to top off our meal with a “made-by-me” KENTUCKY BOURBON
BALL. I barely had sat down when I saw a RED-BREASTED NUTHATCH busily
attacking a suet log. What a treat! Hopefully other great bird visitors
will grace our feeders as the day goes on. Of course we enjoy all of
them. Les and I marveled at how beautiful the female cardinals looked
when they were at the feeder.

Cheers,
Joan Carr
