[birdky] female Comon Goldeneye

I watched a diving duck on a nearby farm pond for some time yesterday. It kept
making 3 second appearances between 10 second dives. From my pics Dave says
it's a female Common Goldeneye, which is bound to be correct if Dave says so. I
am awaiting his explanation for why it has a red eye.
There were also 16 Canada Geese and a Wilson's Snipe by the same pond.
A lone Loggerhead Shrike has been a regular denizen of one of my fence rows
for some time, but it will probably be hiding on count day.
