Sorry for my late report. I tried to send the report yesterday; but  
my ISP screwed up. But now after calling tech support things should  
be all right.


12/22/06

I waited until the rain stopped before I went out.

10AM to 3:30PM
50º rain ending, skies changing to partly cloudy, temp. rising to 60º

I visited Sloughs: Woods Tract, Anderson Pond in Henderson Co. Then  
Uniontown Dam, Jenny Hole Unit, Highland Creek Unit in Union Co.
The trip to Uniontown: nothing seen. The river is down quite a bit.  
But no ducks or gulls yet.
Great Blue Herons
Tundra Swans: At 10AM 5 north of 268 across from Woods Tract, and  
then while
        I was watching them 7 more arrived for a total of 12.
        When I checked again at 3:30 they were gone again.
White Fronted Geese
Canada Geese (Now the most numerous geese)
[ no Snow Geese seen]
Mallards, the most numerous duck
Gadwalls at Anderson Pond
Pintails across from Woods Tract
Am. Widgeons
Ring-necked Ducks at Anderson Pond
Coots at Anderson Pond
Red-tailed Hawks
Red-shouldered Hawks: a pair over Highland Creek Unit
Am. Kestrels
Rock Doves at Uniontown Dam
Eurasian Collared Doves in Uniontown (Where there is a grain company.)
Mourning Doves
N. Flicker
Pileated Wdpkr
Red-bellied Wdpkr
Hairy Wdpkr
Downy Wdpkr
Blue Jays
Com. Crows
Carolina Chickadees
Tufted Titmouse
White-breasted Nuthatch
Carolina Wren
Mockingbird (at Jenny Hole Unit)
	Mockingbird: First I have seen in KY not near a residence. While  
birding in Texas and Florida I have seen them often out in the field.
        But, in KY I can't remember ever seeing them away from civilization.
E. Bluebirds (many places on power lines)
Golden-crowned Kinglets
Starlings
Red-winged Blackbirds
Com. Grackles
Cardinals
Am. Goldfinches
Rufous-sided Towhee
Dark-eyed Juncos
White-throated Sparrows
Fox Sparrows
Swamp Sparrows
