In the real world most people you talk with don't know anything about the
WCEP and don't care. These cranes can come down anywhere...from a protected
marsh to farm pond to a more public Lake Nevin. While the birders retreat at
the sight of this special bird as the WCEP suggests, the family just
driving up would have a child asking ..."What is that big white bird..can we
get closer, daddy?" Please... if these cranes are going to survive, it
won't be because birders gave them plenty of room!
