Just as I get out from under being buried with semester exams to grade.....I
get buried with the snow and sleet.  Since I'm not going to be going
anywhere with the road conditions, I figured I'd keep track of all the birds
that came to the feeders yesterday or were seen in the backyard.  It was a
full time job yesterday keeping plenty of seed for all the birds. I think
every bird in Southern Kenton County was on my porch or in the backyard.

House Finch (Many)
American Goldfinch (Many)
Cowbirds (at first there was only 1 but by the end of the day there were 18
on the ground)
Hairy woodpeckers (Male and Female)
Downy woodpeckers (Male and Female)
Yellow-bellied woodpeckers (Male and Female)
White-breasted Nuthatch (2)
Bluejays (2)
Mourning Doves (Many....we rescued one that was frozen in the sleet)
Tufted Titmouse (4)
Carolina Chickadees (4)
House sparrows
Tree sparrows
Song sparrows 
White-crowned sparrow (1)
Cardinals (5 male and 4 female)
Dark-eyed Junco (4)
Starlings (Too many!!!)
Crows (2 that hung in the trees near the feeders)
Red-tailed Hawk hunting in the field by the  house

Absent were my Carolina wrens that I haven't seen for the past few weeks and
the Cooper's hawk that terrorized the feeders a couple of weeks ago.
