I snuck out for a few hours to bird with Mike Resch who is  visiting from 
Massachusetts.  Mike has a few specific birds on his KY wish  list but our 
lakes 
were not overly hospitable today.  The sun was too  bright, the heat shimmers 
were horrendous and the lake is too high.
Mike was able to add first year Thayer's gull to his KY list at Barkley  Dam. 
 At KY dam he spotted a Laughing gull in the mix of feeding gulls  below the 
dam.  
We were unable to find a Forster's Tern or Least Sandpiper.  It is  count 
week for the LBL CBC so we will at least have the Laughing Gull  counted.
