15 December 2004:

While returning to Russellville from Bowling Green, I made a quick stop at
Petros Pond located at Petros, Warren County on the north side of US 68.
Observed were:

98 Canada Geese
41 Mallards
3 Northern Pintails
2 American Black Ducks
2 Gadwalls

There was also a domestic/escape goose of large size similar to and possibly
a Graylag.  Additionally there were 2 large domestic ducks that seem to have
taken up residency there recently.

I also made a quick stop at Auburn Cemetery Transient Pond, located just
south of US 68 on the NW side of Auburn, and found 4 Mallards and several
American Crows doing something on the ice.  I could not tell if the crows
were "playing" or locating food from nearby weeds that penetrated the ice.
I suspect that later, but could not be sure as their behavior was quite odd.

That concludes this report.
