On 11 December 2004, 20 birders, including 3 from TN and 1 from IN spend the
better part of the day on the Peabody WMA covering parts of the Homestead,
Ken Hopewell & Sinclair Units. The good news was 62 species were seen. The
bad news was the NORTHERN SHRIKE could NOT be relocated nor were any
Short-eared Owls seen. Highlights included sightings of Common Loons and
Ring-billed Gulls flying over, Gr. Wh.-fronted Geese, a Ross' Goose, 7
species of ducks, 6 species of raptors, 9 species of sparrows and several
Purple Finch.
