The Warsaw winter bird count was held on December 20, 2003 in portions of 
Carroll, Gallatin, and Owen Counties. Six people participated, recording 67 
species of birds. Some highlights are as follows:

Greater Scaup   1
Bald Eagle      2
Rough-legged Hawk  1
Sandhill Crane   130 in 3 flocks
Eastern Phoebe  1
Hermit Thrush   4
American Pipit  4
Lapland Longspur  1
Purple Finch    6
