Hap Chambers and I spent part of the day birding the
Kentucky and Barkley Dams area.  Although there is
good water flow below both dams, the number of gulls
feeding there is relatively low as compared to what
Hap and Mark had during the LBL count.  The birds were
widely scattered on the lakes today, but an impressive
number continues to roost above Kentucky Dam with
birds arriving from every direction at dusk. 
Highlights from the day include:

Thayer's Gull  ...........adult below Barkley Dam  
Laughing Gull  ...........1st yr. below Ky. Dam
Lesser Black-backed Gull  adult above Ky. Dam
Black Scoter  ............female above Barkley Dam 
Am. White Pelican  2 flocks totalling approx. 175
