I observed a number of interesting birds today around Cave Run Lake and the 
fish hatchery in Rowan Co.

Highlights include:

Common Loon
Horned Grebe
Double-crested Cormorant
Ring-billed Gulls (100+)
Bonaparte's Gull
Hooded Merganser
Bufflehead
Ring-necked Duck
Lesser Scaup
a possible N. Pintail (it looked like it had the Pintail head/neck color 
pattern, but I couldn't get a good enough look before it flew away)
Eastern Phoebe
Golden-crowned Kinglet
Brown Creeper
Swamp, Song, White-crowned and White-throated Sparrows
Eastern Towhee

Owing to the snow, I was able to see lots of animal tracks around the hatchery. 
The ones I was able to identify included Wild Turkey, deer, fox, raccoon and 
rabbit. There were also a lot of smaller tracks that I couldn't identify.
