[birdky] BKY: Sunday drive

After reading the reports of longspurs and larks, I decided to try for
them in Pulaski County today. I saw a few small groups of Horned Larks,
but no luck on the longspurs. I had a great look at a Merlin sitting on
a limb overhanging the road. It charged after a kestrel, then proceeded
to harass everything in its path. It was a treat to see; I like those
spunky little birds. A pretty adult Cooper's Hawk sat on a fence for a
moment after giving a flock of starlings a fright attack. Other raptors
seen: Red-tailed Hawks, Red-shouldered Hawk, American Kestrels and
Northern Harriers.
