Had approximately 560 sandhills in several groups headed south past
my workplace (Dupont Circle area) yesterday (11/27) between 11:50 and
12:30. One group thermaled over the building but the majority were
high and flying southward with little or no thermaling. We also had
a group go over the house about 7:45pm. They sounded low as they went
over but because it was dark we couldn't tell how many there were – a
very talkative group. Very neat. This is the first time Ben or I
have heard them at night.
