Hello. A friend and I did some birding today (11-25-07) at the Central
Kentucky Wildlife Management Area in Madison County, Kentucky. It was a gloomy
morning, but, thankfully, it turned into a beautiful day for an outing. Thanks
to my friend's discerning ear, we identified numerous species by their
vocalizations. A list of species that were seen, heard, or both is as follows:
* Eastern Bluebird
* Northern Cardinal
* Carolina Chickadee
* American Crow
* Northern Flicker
* American Goldfinch
* Canada Goose
* Red-tailed Hawk
* Blue Jay
* Killdeer
* Golden-crowned Kinglet
* American Robin
* White-throated Sparrow
* Tufted Titmouse
* Turkey Vulture
* Yellow-rumped Warbler
* Carolina Wren
A highlight of this trip was getting to hear the Red-tailed Hawk as it circled
above us - very cool.
