[birdky] RPT: Ruby-throated Hummer and Lesser Black-backed Gull in Lou area

This afternoon I studied what appeared in all respects to be a female
Ruby-throated Hummingbird in the yard of Sue Massey, who lives near Browsboro,
Oldham County and who continues to host the young male Rufous Hummer that I
banded a couple of weeks ago ... two hummers in one yard for Thanksgiving! Mark
Monroe and I will band the Ruby-throated early next week if it hangs around.

At the Falls of the Ohio, at least 500-600 gulls are now present. This evening
the 3rd year Lesser Black-backed that Eddie Huber found yesterday morning was
still present, along with 10-15 Herring Gulls and 20 Bonies. There appeared to
be a few waterbirds on the river including a flock of Bufflehead and a Common
Loon.

Our good (albeit shamefully shy) birding buddy, Matt Stickel, claims to have
had a second-year Great Black-backed Gull at Markland Dam today with about 300
Ring-billed Gulls. I may try to check out his gull ID skills sometime tomorrow
:o)

Matt also reported a Ring-billed Gull with wing markings, and the Yandells and
myself observed a Ring-billed Gull that appeared to have dark patagial tags on
its wings at the Falls this evening.
