Well, Brainard and I missed each other today....
I hit the Wood Tract at 6:30AM before the rain.
I missed the Ross's, the Cackling, the Plover, Sandpipers and Pipit;
got the rest.
It seems the ducks and geese and swans like the open water south of
268 until sometime after dawn and then move to the north side where
they feed on the remaining corn.
Then I checked out Grassy Pond/Powells Lake Unit and had some Am.
Tree Sparrows.
On the way to Uniontown Dam I had a raft of Ring-neck Ducks, about a
dozen on the Ohio.
At Uniontown Dam I had hundreds of Double-crested cormorants and
hundreds of Ring-billed Gulls.
At 9:30 pouring rain and t-storms hit the area and I headed home.
In the afternoon I did Audubon Park for the first time in years.
Nothing of note except a Sharp-shinned Hawk at Wilderness Lake; and
some beautiful walking in wet colorful leaves.

John Brunjes and I visited the Sauerheber Unit of Sloughs WMA in

along KY 268 at the "Woods Tract" we enjoyed a wonderful variety of
geese and dabbling ducks. Not sure how the brief upcoming hunting
season will affect this collection, but it is
