The day before yesterday, I didn't think much about it when I found bird 
droppings on my wood carving in progress. A Carolina Wren comes in and out 
beneath the eaves of my shop all the time and a Mockingbird often comes in by 
way of the pet door and steals kibbles. 
  Yesterday, more abundant droppings decorated my carving. These were all 
white, unlike the pokeberry color of those from the day before. Again, I didn't 
think much about it. 
  Then I went back in the shop about dusk yesterday to put out kibbles. Upon 
hearing a loud thunk, I looked around to see a Screech Owl clinging onto the 
middle of the east window. I slowly eased over and opened the back door. I 
heard two more thunks while doing this, but lost sight of the owl. After easing 
around slowly, opening first the east window, then the south window, I spotted 
the owl sitting on a table beside the north window. It sat still until I almost 
touched it with my tobogan covered hand, then flew out the door.
