On a cool morning the Beckham Bird Club birded Garvin Brown Nature Preserve in
northeast Jefferson Co. and 11 people saw 42 species:
wood duck
mallard
common loon
great blue heron
turkey vulture
cooper hawk
red tail hawk
American kestrel
killdeer
ring billed gull
rock pigeon
mourning dove
red bel. woodpecker
downy woodpecker
northern flicker
eastern phoebe
blue jay
American crow
car.chickadee
white breasted nuthatch
Carolina wren
golden cr. kinglet
ruby cr. kinglet
eastern bluebird
robin
mockingbird
starling
American pipit-- 50 plus were seen in two groups in the marshy area in front of
parking lot.
