Barren Reservoir
Raft of 350+ mixed waterfowl in Mason's Island area
with approximately 70% Lesser Scaup. Other species
present included:
Ring-necked
Green-winged Teal
Mallard
N Pintail
N Shoveler
Gadwall
A Wigeon
Also present on that date were 1 Common Loon and 2
Horned Grebes. A mixed flock of about 60 ducks was
also present in the Walnut Creek area and comprised
mostly of Lesser Scaup. At least 150 DC Cormorants
were either scattered about the lake or seen flying
overhead.
11 November 2005
Adult dark-morph calurus Redtail thermalling over my
house in Warren County then streaming off to the
southeast.
Barren Reservoir
Fewer ducks with species present being Mallard, GW
Teal, Gadwall, Lesser Scaup, Bufflehead, and Hooded
Merganser.
C Loon 7
Horned Grebe
A noticeable increase in Bonaparte's Gulls with at
least 150 scattered.
Bald Eagle Immature near Walnut Creek
An adult dark-morph calurus Redtail was present for at
least the third year near Bailey's Point. (video)
Our female Ruby-throated Hummingbird is still coming
to the feeders.
