After three or four days of lots of birds in my backyard -- pine siskins,
Carolina chickadees, purple finches, house finches, n. cardinals, blue jays,
doves, downy, Pileated and red bellied wps, flickers, while-throated
sparrows, dark-eyed juncos, tufted titmouses, Carolina wrens, robins, cedar
waxwings, Cooper's hawk, song sparrows, rufous-sided towhees, starlings (of
course), c. grackles, white-breasted nuthatches and goldfinches. The last
two days all I have seen are two goldfinch, a Carolina wren and a
red-breasted nuthatch. This is the first RB nuthatch that I have seen in
about 4 years. I went for a walk though the nearby golf course and saw
nothing, except for hearing a Carolina wren. Does this happen often. I don't
recall it happening before.
