Nothing so interesting as a northern shrike on my trip today.  (And to think
that I drove by Peabody twice today, on the way out and then back.)
* Brewer's blackbird.  One male, along Smokey Rd. in Ballard County (off
310; DeLorme p. 58 F3).  Contrary to predictions, he was with a flock of
starlings.  There may well have been other Brewer's in the area.  Nothing
was staying in one place for long.  Also in the area, loggerhead
(presumably) shrike.

* Laughing gull.  Below KY Dam about 3 p.m.  Grayish wash around neck.
Looked like a 2nd winter bird to me.  (video)  

Also near KY Dam:  horned grebe; two common loons (one did a great hoo-OOOoo
call as I got out of my car); adult bald eagle flying directly over the dam.
