The following are some highlights from today (Nov. 16) of a trip along the Ohio 
River in Boone and Gallatin Counties:
  
  Common Loon  3 on the Ohio River in Gallatin Co. near the mouth of Sugar 
Creek, 2 on the Ohio River near Big Bone Creek, 1 at a Petersburg gravel pit. 
  Pied-billed Grebe  5 at Markland Dam, 1 at Paint Lick Creek (Gallatin)
  Horned Grebe  7 on the Ohio River near Sugar Creek mouth, 2 at Markland Dam, 
2 on the Ohio River near Craig's Creek mouth (Gallatin).
  Double-crested Cormorant  1 at Craig's Creek mouth, 3 at Warsaw.
  Great Egret  2 continue to linger at Paint Lick Creek in Gallatin Co.
  Gadwall  17 on the Ohio River near mouth of Sugar Creek
  Flock of divers (150+ birds) consisting of Redhead, Ring-necked Duck, and 
Lesser Scaup on the Ohio River near the mouth of Sugar Creek.
  Bufflehead   11 on the Ohio River near the mouth of Sugar Creek.
  Hooded Merganser  15 on the Ohio River near the mouth of Sugar Creek, 4 at 
Paint Lick Creek. 
  Red-breasted Merganser  30 above Markland Dam
  Ruddy Duck   1 at Craig's Creek
  200+ gulls at Markland Dam and Craig's Creek consisting of about 1/2 
Bonaparte's and 1/2 Ring-billed with a few Herring thrown in.
  Rusty Blackbird   3 at Petersburg
