A brief check of Barren Reservoir today, 6 November
2002, revealed a small number of expected waterbird
species including a few divers, Horned Grebes,
cormorants, and Bonaparte's and Ring-billed Gulls.  I
was unable to stay late enough to observe the gull
roost near Mason's Island.

The most noteworthy observations were a Barn Swallow
with nine Tree Swallows near the mouth of Walnut Creek
in Barren and Allen Counties, and a freshly
road-killed Wood Pewee near Bailey's Point in Allen
County.  Interestingly, the Barn Swallow was seen in
the same area where I observed and videotaped one on
11 November 2001.
